Product Version : All
Descriptions : option to change where OBM stores the temporary filelists
Reasons : Can't do backup when the default location(drive) is run out space
Workaround : N/A

I also like this idea for performance. Writing additional IO to the OS disk introduces a noticeable difference for a couple machines of mine. Directing the temp storage elsewhere is desirable.

This feature is available in the latest of v5.2.2.4
You can change the location of the ipc folder(place where the filelist is stored)under backupset settings -> temp folder.
