Why can't you just monitor the logs and success/failure of the backups through the OBS API? That tells you almost everything you need to know about the backups. You should be able to do this without much problem with Kaseya etc.

I still do not understand much of vbscribting, but it seems your script should create registry strings and values in HKLM\Software\Ne-tops.
This key ends up being there, but there is only a reg_sz string named "Default" with no values in it, so the remainder of the script fails.
Furthermore, if I uncomment the 6 lines that "are no longer needed" the in.txt and out.txt are also created but remain empty.

This feature has been added to AhsayOBS v6.5 or above already. You can enable this function from the [Manage System] -> [Server Configuration] page.

To clarify, for Event Viewer logging of AhsayOBS, mentioned in our previous post:

To upgrade, please refer to the Ahsay Product Upgrade guide at:
http://help.ahsay.com/openArticle.aspx?aid=2686

Thanks.

For the request on Event Viewer logging for AhsayACB/OBM, such request is in our enhancement queue, unfortunately, at this point we do not have the exact version of when this feature will be available.

Thanks.

As a follow up, has anyone came up with a solution to track backup job status for use with GFI or other RMM tools?

Re: VB Script error solved

This was due to the date format passed through to the vb script code having the wrong date format

the main.bat file passes the variable in the format
DD/MM/YYYY-HH:MM:SS.xx

but in parsing this to locate the log files it needs it to be
YYYY/MM/DD-HH:MM:SS.xx

run this in the main.bat file
@echo Off
for /F "tokens=1-4 delims=/ " %%i in ('date /t') do set date2=%%k/%%j/%%i
CSCRIPT Main.VBS %date2%-%time%

So close!
BUT actually it should be:

for /F "tokens=1-4 delims=/ " %%i in ('date /t') do set date2=%%k-%%j-%%i
CSCRIPT Main.VBS %date2%-%time%

date2=%%k-%%j-%%i is the bit changed (it needs dashes between)

The script works as expected. Just as well.

If any needs guidance on how to get this working post here.

BIG THANKS TO Andreas :)

I've switched to Naverisk now for RMM which is excellent.
