Hints for downgrade easily

Postby jedduff » Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:00 am

Hi guys,

I give some hints fro downgrading 6.13 to 6.11

Fortunately, I don't have Exchange 2013 or some new 6.13 features. So, i'm ok to downgrade

You need :

1. Upgrade package from 6.11 (from the custom portal or your backup)

Optional :

2. unofficial patch for 6.11.0.2

I had the 6.11 upgrade package in my backups. I restore it and I add the content of the 6.11.0.2 patch zip in it (obc-win-hotfix.zip in obm61100-win.zip)

I set the "customized" 6.11 zip and I put it in my liveupdate folder.

I renamed the package 6.11 to obm61300a-win.zip (I don't have linux or mac clients)

I backup the existing index.xml file

I change all 6.13.0.0 reference to 6.13.0.0a of the same index.xml file (DON'T USE THE 6.11's ONE!)

Test on my machine (rebooted the autoupdate service)

now my customers are under 6.11.0.2

Keep 6.13 on your obs,

Also, I re-upgraded all the clients to 6.13.0.2
