Migrate UBS between VM Servers

Postby cristiancsiki » Wed Nov 18, 2015 9:41 pm

Hello everyone,

I have one big UBS server that was deployed on a very big VM Disk. I have added additional VM disks and migrated the users off that System Disk.
Now I have another UBS server where I want to import the other VM disks and push in production this 2nd server.

I have exported and imported the UBS settings and attached the VM disks. I also added the license but the UBS on new server doesn't pick up any additional disk. I tried restoring configuration files from OBS, but it imports only one user and UBS still can't see no additional disk.

Any clues?

I'm running production UBS 2.21 on VMware ESXi 5.5 and trying to migrate on UBS 2.27, still VMware ESXi 5.5.

Any help will be appreciated.

Kind regards.

Hello Cristian

The entries from the DMESG seem normal.

Can you confirm after you have already followed the procedure outlined in Chapter 8.4.5.2 Storage Migration Procedure of our Ahsay Universal Backup System Administrator’s Guide https://forum.ahsay.com/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=9791

Re: Migrate UBS between VM Servers

Postby cristiancsiki » Fri Nov 20, 2015 7:24 pm

Hi Support,

I have followed the guide as mentioned and it did see the disk, it imported but I couldn't see it in UBS storage.

Running df-h I could see my disk correct. I have rebooted my new server and couldn't see anymore the disk. I have tried to power off the new VM, power on working VM and the disk is now reporting MISSING. When I try to import it, it fails.

What can I do now??

Please advise.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
