Start backup upon doubleclick desktop icon [SOLVED]

Postby hakans » Thu Apr 23, 2015 7:36 pm

We have a customer who would like their ACB backup to start automatically when they click on the desktop icon - or more specifically: it should start the gui and then run the backup set without further clicking.

Is this possible to achieve with some command line parameter added to the desktop icon?
The standard parameter for starting the gui is like: SystemTray64.exe -UI

When right clicking on the tray icon, in the menu there is an option to run a backup job.
But when using that the gui isn't launched and the status noticifation is small in the corner, too small for this customer.

Hello,

If you wish to initiate an AhsayACB backup job from your Windows desktop, we suggest you create a shortcut on the desktop to the C:\Program Files\AhsayACB\bin\RunBackupSet.bat file. Double clicking on the shortcut will start the backup.

I tested this, and it will work nicely.
Thanks!
