Customization Portal server.xml and startup.bat

Postby Bob T Bunny » Mon Nov 23, 2015 8:12 am

Hi,

I am a partner who uses the Customization Portal to do branded builds.

Since 6.21, for a "normal" customer, SSLv3 has been disabled in the server.xml, but in the customization portal the files we get still have that enabled. We need to disable it in the server.xml using the documentation at https://forum.ahsay.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=10686

Likewise, we need to modify the same file to specify the ciphers to be used, to disable Diffie Hellman key exchange, as per https://forum.ahsay.com/viewtopic.php?f=165&t=13520

And, we need to manually enter the fact that we are using a .pfx file by adding keystoreType="PKCS12", outlined in post https://forum.ahsay.com/viewtopic.php?t=9097

Then, every time we get a build, we also need to update Startup.bat to bump up the maximum java heap size, setting Xmx4096m

How can we get the customization portal to set these settings (particularly the server.xml) to be "secure by default" when a branded build is done? I can't find anything in the documentation for the Customization Portal, relating to server.xml, cipher, or Xmx

Thanks,

Bob

Once a person from Essay Writing Companies ask me what's the dissimilarity between XML and HTML? Then I got an answer XML is an extensible score language that was developed to retain the power and flexibility of HTML while reducing the majority of the difficulty.

For your information, it possible to build OBS installers with your custom settings. You can simply upload the "server.xml" to "Home > custom-obsr > app > common > conf" under [Step 2. Upload Customized Files] on Customization Portal.

To upload the startup.bat, you can create a "bin" folder under "Home > custom-obsr > app > common" and then upload the file to this location.
