How to change ownership of user accounts?

Postby trub » Wed Jun 29, 2016 4:54 am

Is there a way to change the ownership? V6 has a "change ownership" area where users could be moved from one sub-admin to another. I can't for the life of me figure it out in V7.

There is no option on CBS to change ownership. However, you can use the followings workaround to change owner of an user account to a sub-admin account on v7:

1. Select the user to export from Manage Backup User
2. Export user without backup files included
3. From the exported user.xml, search the "owner" to include the subadmin name
4. Zip the users.xml and import to overwrite existing user
5. the user will be imported with the owner name and it will also create a folder with the subadmin ID in corresponding user home
6. If there is no data for this user before, it is not necessary to restart CBS
7. For backup set with data, it is simply to stop CBS and move all files from old user folder to new user folder

Please be aware that all old backup logs would no longer visible for this user on CBS console after changing to another owner.

I tried this procedure, but it did not work on AhsayCBS 7.11.0.4

But perhaps I missed something.
Can you explain the following ?
- in the users.xml file, there are 7 instances of 'owner' in a AhsayOBM user.
Do I need to change all of these, or just the first one ?

- in the exported users.zip file, there are also 2 directories: RestoreLog and BackupJob
Do these need to be imported back again as well, or just the users.xml file (zipped)
(already tried both without success)

An integration in the webinterface of this feature would really be appreciated.

Kind regards
