Please refer to Article #2375 for details on upgrade path to the latest patch set / hotfix versions.



How to install the latest patch set / hotfixes for AhsayACB version 5.5.x:

  1. Download the following patch / hotfix file:

    • Stable patch set releases (5.5.x.0) [Patch files for version 5.5.x.x upgrade to 5.5.8.0]:
      AhsayACB stable patch set for Windows, Mac OS X

      The zip files provided above may be empty if no new patch sets have been released. More information about this release can be found in our Release Notes.

    • Hotfix releases (5.5.x.x) [Hotfix files for version 5.5.8.0 upgrade to 5.5.8.2]:
      AhsayACB hotfixes for Windows, Mac OS X

      You are advised to apply hot-fixes here only to those machines experiencing bugs that have been stated as fixed in the AhsayACB 5.5.x.x Hotfix Release Notes.

  2. Shutdown the backup scheduler by:
    • (Windows) [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Online Backup Scheduler (AhsayACB) ]
    • (Mac OS X) >sudo /Applications/AhsayACB/bin/StopScheduler.sh

  3. Shutdown the Continuous Data Protection by:
    • [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Continuous Data Protection (AhsayACB) ]

  4. [ For Windows only ] Close the AhsayACB system tray icon


  5. Install the patch set / hotfix files:
    • (Windows) Expand [ acb-win-patch.zip / acb-win-hotfix.zip ] downloaded to [ C:\Program Files\AhsayACB ]
    • (Mac OS X) Expand [ acb-mac-patch.zip / acb-mac-hotfix.zip ] downloaded to [ /Applications/AhsayACB ]
    Be sure to expand all files within the zip archive to their path locations as in the zip archive (Do not remove anything from the [ C:\Program Files\AhsayACB ], only overwrite existing files when necessary). For example, you need to expand the file, "bin\obc.jar", inside the zip archive to "C:\Program Files\AhsayACB\bin\obc.jar"

    Important:
    The stable patch release and hotfix release may contain branding related materials within the zip archive. For branded installation, please do not expand any properties, icons or branding related materials within the zip archive to their patch locations.

    Please download default properties (5.5.x.x) (for default installation) or generate the corresponding properties files from the Customization Portal (for branded installation).



  6. Restart the backup scheduler by:
    • (Windows) [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Online Backup Scheduler (AhsayACB) ]
    • (Mac OS X) >sudo /Applications/AhsayACB/bin/Scheduler.sh

    • [ For Windows only ] Startup the Continuous Data Protection by:
      • [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Continuous Data Protection (AhsayACB) ]
    • [ For Windows only ] Open the AhsayACB system tray icon from [ Start Menu ] > [ All Programs ] > [ AhsayACB ] > [ AhsayACB ]

  7. Installation is now complete



How to install the latest patch set / hotfixes for AhsayACB version 6.x:

  1. Download the following patch / hotfix file:

    • Stable patch set releases (6.x.0.0) [Patch files for version 6.x upgrade to 6.29.0.0]:
      AhsayACB stable patch set for Windows, Mac OS X

      The zip files provided above may be empty if no new patch sets have been released. More information about this release can be found in our Release Notes.

    • Hotfix releases (6.x.x.0) [No hotfix file available]:
      AhsayACB 6.x.x.0 hotfixes for Windows, Mac OS X

      You are advised to apply hot-fixes here only to those machines experiencing bugs that have been stated as fixed in the AhsayACB 6.x.x.x Hotfix Release Notes.

  2. Shutdown the backup scheduler by:
    • (Windows) [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Online Backup Scheduler (AhsayACB) ]

  2. Shutdown the backup scheduler by:

      You are advised to apply hot-fixes here only to those machines experiencing bugs that have been stated as fixed in the AhsayOBM 6.x.x.x Hotfix Release Notes.

  2. Shutdown the backup scheduler by:

How to auto update all AhsayOBM / ACB client agents:

To auto update all AhsayOBM / AhsayACB client agents, please perform the following procedures:

  1. Generate the live update files:

    • [ For branded installation ]
      • Login to the Customization Portal, and to Step 5. Build Options
      • Press the [Generate and Download All Properties] button
      • Ensure that the checkboxes for all operating system platforms for AhsayOBM and AhsayACB are selected
      • Press the [Build] button
      • Download the obc-app-upgrade.zip once the building process is completed
    • [ For default installation ]
    • Extract the downloaded auto update file to:
      [ ${Install-Home}/webapps/obs/liveUpdate ] (overwrite existing files)

  2. Enable the AutoUpdate feature on the AhsayOBS server. Please refer to the Auto Update chapter within the AhsayOBS Administrator's Guide for more information.

If you are now seeing any missing resources (e.g. BS_BACKUP_SET_TYPE) from the user interface or backup report after this upgrade, please perform the following procedures to generate the new properties files or download default properties files for install:

  1. [ For branded installation ]
    • Login to the Customization Portal, and to Step 1. Customize Properties
    • Press the [Generate and Download All Properties] button

  2. [ For default installation ]

  3. Extract the properties_*.zip file to a temporary location (e.g. C:\Temp)


  4. Switch to the [ AhsayOBM & AhsayACB - System Tray ] group and press [Search] then the [ Generate Properties for AhsayOBM & AhsayACB - System Tray ] button:

    • [ For AhsayACB only ] Copy the generated resource files:
      • [ C:\Temp\custom\custom-acb\app\common\bin\*.properties ]
      • [ C:\Temp\custom\custom-acb\app\win\bin\*.properties ]
      to
      • (Windows) [ C:\Program Files\AhsayACB\bin ]
      • (Mac OS X) [ /Applications/AhsayACB/bin ]
    • [ For AhsayOBM only ] Copy the generated resource files:
      • [ C:\Temp\custom\custom-obm\app\common\bin\*.properties ]
      • [ C:\Temp\custom\custom-obm\app\win\bin\*.properties ]
      to
      • (Windows) [ C:\Program Files\AhsayOBM\bin ]
      • (Mac OS X) [ /Applications/AhsayOBM/bin ]
      • (Linux) [ ${Install-Home}/bin ]
      • (NetWare) [ SYS:\AhsayOBM\bin ]

  5. Open the AhsayACB / AhsayOBM user interface from the system tray icon afterward
