Correct Tracking of Outlook Files

Postby MalcolmW » Thu Nov 20, 2008 12:18 am

I have noticed that when selected Outlook or Outlook Express, the software only selects the default file locations for each of the programs. If a user has moved their data files this means that they could select the options thinking they are backing up their data files but in fact not be backing up their data files at all.

It would be better if for both, the software actually read the registry to find the locations of the Outlook / Outlook Express data files and backed them up in addition to the default locations. That way, it will be guaranteed that the correct files will be backed up simply by checking the relevant boxes from the quick selection option.

Hi MalcolmW,

OBM/ACB should read the registry to find the locations of the outlook/outlook express data files during the backup process.

If this is not the behavior that you got we will ask our support engineer to follow up your case.

Thanks.

I believe this is fixed long ago. Please report bug if you find the contrary.
