TMS - 8512 - Linux OBM CDP?

Postby slonkak » Fri Apr 05, 2013 3:21 am

I've seen posts from 2008 where Ahsay confirmed that CDP does not work on linux hosts. Has this been fixed? I would like to use CDP to back up a linux server and at this point it does not look like it's working. I was hoping that 5 years was enough time to implement this feature :)

Unfortunately, CDP is designed for Windows platforms only, there is no plan to implement the CDP feature for client agent installation on Linux platforms. We shall submit an enhancement request on your behave.

Thanks.

Personally id like to see the Linux client to have support for LVM snapshotting where available, or using HotCopy. It can be done as a pre-command but its a bit cumbersome
